  • KS Mark Certification is a system that recognizes products or services as meeting the level of the Korean Industrial Standards (KS). By promoting the widespread use of industrial standards, it encourages the adoption and advancement of in-house standardization and quality management within industries, while contributing to consumer protection through the broader distribution of high-quality industrial goods.

Korea Industrial Standard (KS)

Definition
  • The Korean Industrial Standards (KS) are national standards established under the Industrial Standardization Act. They are finalized and announced by the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) following deliberation by the Industrial Standards Council, and are denoted by the abbreviation “KS.”
The Korean Industrial Standards consist of 21 sectors, ranging from the Basic Sector (A) to the Information Sector (X), and can be broadly classified into the following three categories.
  1. Product Standards: Standards that specify the performance, dimensions, quality, and other characteristics of a product.
  2. Method Standards: Standards that specify testing, analysis, inspection, measurement methods, and work procedures.
  3. Transmission Standards: Standards that define terminology, notation, units, sequences, and similar technical elements.
