System Overview

A statutory mandatory certification system that verifies the hygiene safety of water supply materials and products by testing for the leaching of hazardous substances

  • The testing covers : 45 test items, including lead, mercury, and cadmium.

Certification Scope

Water supply materials and products that come into direct contact with water in water supply facilities (excluding intake, storage, and conveyance facilities).

Certification Procedure

The certification is issued through a process that includes document review, factory audit, product testing, and certification deliberation.

  • Certified products are subject to periodic inspections every two years to verify continued compliance with the hygiene and safety standards, following the same procedures as the initial certification.

  • Product testing : Upon passing the factory audit, product testing is conducted, and the test items vary depending on the product being applied for. The testing agencies are listed below, and assignments are made on a random basis.

  • Certification Deliberation Committee : The committee convenes once a month to deliberate on final approval and matters related to maintaining certification.
  • Post-Management : Post-management is conducted to maintain the quality of certified products and to prevent the distribution of illegal or non-conforming products.

Certification Marking

Certified products must bear the certification mark, and product packaging is required to indicate the manufacturer, product name, certification number, date of manufacture, and certifying body.
